Sorry, but the only way NewTek recommands defraging (or daoing anything
with) thieir drives is through the Flyer 00 that includes files copying to
Flyer drives (I once copyied 46 meg onto a Flyer drive and deleted it from
the Workbench.  Thos 46 megs of files took the other 500 megs of files with
them, including an animation that took a week to render...)  You could try
QuarterBack or BAD, but I wouldn't recommend it.  NewTek BBS says that
some peopl have gotten the Reorg button to work but many haven't and a few
have lost data.  My only recommendation would be to edit as much as you
can now, dump it to tape (make sure it's PERFECT), re-format your drives,
then edit the rest.  It sucks, but it works.  Ah, just wait until those
1-gig Flyer-speed Viper removable drives come out... won't that be nice...

Not yet, but you wil eventaully be able to do it with two recored clips
and a wipe...

Until then, what  you have to is pretend you DON'T have a Flyer, do a
real A/B roll with VCRs and the Toaster, and digitize that. Not easy if
you only have 2 VCRs...

A more elegant solution is using TPaint's Cip2IFF or Clip2FStore (is there a
Clip2FStore?) on the clips., run them through LightWave using one
of the clip's IFFs as the  background image and the other clips as a
front-projected polygon (lum. 100%, Diff 0%) where the other half of the
wipe would be.

On the bright side, this looks really cool and you can do neat things like
color bordes, ripps and effect like that, but it'll take quite a while --
set it up for an overnight render or something -- if you have the drive
sapce for it...

All this stuff should eventaully be in a future Flyer version (NewTek BSS
Sysop Chuck Baker says), but maybe not by 4.1.  I mean that you'll
eventually be able to run two clips at once, pull the wipe 1/2 way down,
and have it stop there.  I don't know if it'll ever be possible to record
with a wipe pulled partway down -- I think it's one of those limitations
like min. 10-frame clips.
